"We had come to Scotland this year finally and we had chosen the Achmony Holiday Chalets to stay in. At home we had looked at the website and our son had already 'chosen' his favourite house with the help of streetview, which was Number 7 ...

"As we checked in at the reception and met Mrs Macintosh for the first time we learned we actually had been given house number 7!

"We simply loved it ... there had been built a new conservatory at the house overlooking Loch Ness to the left and the Glen to the right. Opening the panorama door to the balcony, I often stepped out with the camera, morning or evening to get a shot of the magnificent view and sunsets and fog and clouds. We were in the middle of this fantastic atmosphere ...

"Inside the house had all comfort you could wish for, the walls built in wood, everything absolutely clean and even a bunch of fresh flowers greeting us on our arrival!

"We will return ..!

"Thanks a lot Mrs Macintosh for making our stay in Scotland so comfortable."

"After some time back at home I would like to give my feedback on our holidays at Achmony Lodge. We all really enjoyed the well equipped holiday house with nice view to the hills and the Loch Ness. It was an excellent starting point for many excursions to the Western Ross but also for a cruise on Loch Ness. Your warm welcome, the ready to use breakfast items and the nice interior of the house were all very appreciated. We can really recommend this place to other people."

"What a wonderful place to spend our holidays! The chalet had everything we could wish for, is very spacious and comfortable.

"We had constantly changing views with early morning mist, low clouds, sunshine and lights in the valley at night. We watched the red deer grazing on the drive and enjoyed some walks in the adjacent valleys. An easy car journey away from Inverness, we managed to dodge a day of rain and ended up with 6 out of seven days in glorious sunshine.

"We would highly recommend Achmony Chalets and were glad to manage to get a chalet from midweek instead of from Saturday only - seemed to us to be the only one in scotland to offer it!"

"We really enjoyed our stay at the very comfortable chalet. It was well equipped and cosy with a stunning view of Loch Ness. A car is needed unless one wants to take the sporty approach of getting the shopping up the hill. We had a great time here."

"We cannot recommend the chalets highly enough - spotlessly clean, all mod cons and perfect location. Elizabeth was most welcoming and we hope to return again in the future."

"Thank you for your warm hospitality during our stay at West End, Achmony, Drumnadrochit. Those 7 days were the most memorable part of our trip to Scotland.

"The Chalet is absolutely fantastic, the space, the design, the facilities, the fixtures have been chosen with great care and add tremendous value to the property, making it very comfortable. The location, view, comfort, space and privacy make it an ideal location for a great holiday.

"Your warm personal touch and a professional interaction, along with a great property will bring us back again and we will definitely be your ambassadors in recommending the place to our friends and family.

"Thank you once again for a wonderful week!! It’s great to see some of our pictures in use on you website, I am glad we could help in some way.

"We had a wonderful holiday at Achmony Holiday Chalets again this year - our 17th or 18th visit. We have been going there on and off since 1974 - before the lovely timber chalets were built and they have just got better and better. Elizabeth/ Mrs.Mackintosh or one of the family are happy to give advice if needed, but they never intrude. It is a great starting place for many lovely places and a heaven for golfers and anglers.

"This year - with brilliant weather - we were content to 'chill out' quite a bit and watch on our D.I.Y. feeder 16 different various birds incl. Great blue and coal tit, chaffinch greenfinch and bullfinch dunnock, blackbird, Gt.spotted woodpecker, siskin yellow hammer, willow warbler, black cap, wren, robin and thrush.
We hope to be back ..."

"We like it...! We really like Scotland and its great landscape. Especially we like Drumnadrochit - It's a superb point to start to any direction.

"At least we have been there the fifth time in one of Elizabeths Achmony holiday-chalets (all together we have stayed there for 26 weeks!). The chalets have a high standard, they have all what you need. They are very cosily, comfortably and very warm if it's cold outside. The picture window allows a great view over the area of Drumnadrochit and Loch Ness. For us it's the best place we have found to enjoy our holidays. We really would like to stay there forever!

"Thanks for all and hope to come back soon again."

"Dear Elizabeth, back again in Cologne, we often dream about Scotland, it was our first time we stayed in this wonderful country. We are so happy to have had the chance to stay 3 weeks in your comfortable, nice and high standard house, which is well furnished with a lot of love and full of comfort.

"After our tours to Glen Navis, Glen Affric, Eilean Donan Castle, Skye and much much more it was a pleasure to come 'home' and enjoy the view to Drumnadrochit and Loch Ness.

"Also the fondly welcome with tea, milk and tasty Scottish cakes, the nice carnations too, are like coming home, and we both loved to have the humorous talks with you.

"We are sure to come back once again ..."

"Dear Elizabeth, just to let you know how much we enjoyed the time we spent at Achmony. The lodge didn't disappoint in any way. The views were terrific, the accommodation first rate and the peace and quiet was well worth the long drive to Scotland. Plenty to see and do - even the weather was kind too us. Like so many others I'm sure we will be returning. We would reccomend the chalets to anyone. Hope to return next year."

"My family and I recently returned home from our third visit to Achmony. We really cannot speak too highly of the place. I remember that when we first visited in 1998, I honestly thought we were lucky enough to be Cottage No. 1's first visitors. Everything seemed so new and clean with nothing out of place. The visitors' book inside the cottage, however, revealed that many other visitors had stayed there before us and were as impressed as we were. It really is amazing how Mrs. Mackintosh succeeds in maintaining these lodges to such a high standard. If it is a holiday of relaxation in idyllic surroundings you are after, there really is no better place."

"Elizabeth, as always it was wonderful to be back at Achmony, to enjoy the peace and quiet of that beautiful hillside, with the primroses and violets in bloom. As you know, No 6 is our favourite place and we were very pleasantly surprised this year to see the fantastic refurbishment you've carried out there. When we arrived, we sank into your comfortable leather recliner to admire the familiar stunning views. There's so much to see in the area so we enjoyed our usual walks and cycle runs, but it was always a pleasure to come back each day to the comfort of No. 6. Your many regular visitors, who like us, look on the place as a home from home, will be delighted by what you've done. We look forward to coming back ..!"

"We have gone on holiday to Drumnadrochit for a very long time. We of course stay at Achmony, the best! There are many reasons why we think it is great. One of the main reasons is the views, especially from chalet 6 which is on stilts. You can see many things like Loch Ness, Drumnadrochit, plenty of animals such as deer, sheep and pine martens and if you are lucky enough you might see the Loch Ness monster. Another great reason to stay at Mrs Mac's [Achmony] is that it's a great place to explore. Once we found several waterfalls which were hidden away on the mountain.

"We walk down to Drumnadrochit every morning before we go out for the day. There are a lot of things to do and see. Urquart Castle is nearby and it is a great family day out. Another activity for all the family are the boat rides on Loch Ness. My dad particularly enjoys visiting the whisky shop where he spends hours eyeing up which whisky he's going to buy next. While we wait my brother and I like to climb on the model monster which is outside of the Loch Ness Visitor Centre.

"If you travel beyond Drumnadochit there are many things to do. One of our favourite activities has got to be the Landmark Centre which is a fantastic adventure playground full of fun attractions. These include three water slides which go at different speeds, a fire tower which is one hundred feet high and dad is scared of, a tree top walk on which you can see red squirrels and a lot of birds, a climbing wall and an aerial assault course which my mom enjoyed. Other places to visit the bowling alley near Inverness, Aquadome which is a fun pool and the beach at Nairn."

"Thank you for a superb holiday. Having stayed in lots of different lodges throughout the UK, I can honestly say that yours are the best we have ever stayed in. No 9 is excellent, & the views are just superb. When we next visit the NE of Scotland, we will certainly stay at Achmony again."

"We had a wonderful holiday and we were reluctant to leave the peace and tranquility of your idyllic chalet. We actually saw a pine martin - the first in all the years we have been visiting Drumnadrochit! Once more our sincere thanks and we hope to see you again soon."

"We've been coming to Achmony most of our married life, and our son Scott, who is now 10 has been here almost every year since he was born. We are so at home at Achmony and immediately relax in the wonderful surroundings. We always receive such a warm welcome and all home comforts are here. The chalets have tons of space, and panoramic windows allow you to view the spectacular scenery from your armchair. We always find new places to go each year and being only 20 minutes away from Inverness allows you to combine relaxation with all that's on offer in a city environment. We continue to recommend Achmony to anyone looking for a great quality break!"
- Alistair, Lynda & Scott.

"This year, fortunately we were able to visit the Loch Ness area again after a too long break of 6 years, and were very happy that we were able to stay again in one of the splendid chalets at Achmony. It was everything that we wished for.

"There are many reasons why Peter and I like to stay there during our holidays. The chalets are spacious, utterly comfortable and luxurious (this time 3 bathrooms!!), cosy and very well equipped, (virtually nothing is lacking). We always get a warm welcome from Elizabeth. The views of the Loch from the chalet are breathtaking. We used the house as well as a very comfortable observation-post for all the wildlife in "our backyard". Many, many birds and our "daily" roebuck, now and then a squirrel or a hare, and while we were relaxing in the livingroom or on the verandah, we always kept the binoculars within reach.

"Apart from Loch Ness itself, which we consider well worth checking out thoroughly through cruising, walking and driving, this time we also visited Glen Strathfarrar, a beautiful valley housing a lot of birds and red deer, and went walking in Glen Affric with its romantic river, waterfalls and beautiful forest. And of course we visited Inverness and Fort Augustus, lots to do and see there.

"We can recommend Achmony to everyone who wants to experience a perfect holiday away from it all, completely carefree in every way. We are certainly returning visitors."
- Elly Post (and Peter of course), Rotterdam, The Netherlands

"We spent a thoroughly wonderful 3 weeks in one of the Achmony Chalets. The chalet was all we could wish for: very well equipped, beautifully and quietly located on the hills overlooking Drumnadrochit and Loch Ness.

"We all fell in love with the Scottish Highlands; the scenery is absolutely breathtaking! We made wonderful trips to Glen Affric; the West Coast (Plockton is really romantic), the Great Glen Way and Glencoe and Loch Leven. Visited some wonderful Castles like Dunrobin Castle, Cawdor Castle and Brodie Castle, all well worth a visit! Golfing at Aigas Golf Club was very relaxing and challenging.

"Yes, Scotland made a wonderful difference from Holland. We will certainly come back some other year."
- Lindy Annevelink, The Netherlands

"We have been regular visitors to the chalets for many years and for the last three years have stayed for three weeks. We very much enjoy our holidays whatever the weather. The chalets are home from home for us. They are very well equipped, very comfortable and easily able to accomodate six people. Being so high up the scenery from Achmony is stunning with panoramic views of the village, Glenurquart and Loch Ness."
